Mark Dimaisip

Mark Dimaisip

Spoken Word Performer, Writer, and Teacher

Mark Dimaisip is a published writer, a teaching artist, and a poetry slam champion. His work sits somewhere between nerdville and nirvana—using cats to discuss the urgency of living, maths to measure happiness and atoms to prove that reincarnation exists. He has performed for stages such as The Cultural Center of the Philippines, PETA Theater, Muzium Nelayan Tanjung Balau and Aliwal Arts Center in Singapore and has been featured in international literary publications such as A Literation Magazine, Human Parts and The Brasilia Review. His spoken word tracks could be found on the albums Bigkas Pilipinas on Jam88.3 and Tugon and his poetry collections in chapbooks Near Things (2014) and Playing, Not Playing (2018). His staple poem "Lessons from Human Anatomy" is included in the Performatura Anthology by The Cultural Center of the Philippines to be released this 2019.
